Located in Historic Highland Park in Lafayette, Indiana, this 16 month project commenced after this 2 story home underwent a complete demolition of the interior, construction of an addition, along with an added 3 car garage. Bethany had a mere 4 days to come up with a new floor plan and an exterior upgrade including all new windows. The challenge was not only time, but to work within the confines of someone else’s vision to modernize it. The property also sat on a corner lot making it a challenge to determine which side would be used the most – requiring us to design a back entrance that was just as beautiful as the front. The new mantra for the interior of the home was to be chic, to be sexy, and to reimagine traditional. The client loved the style of New Orleans, which is often celebrated for their design sense of blending modern flair with antiques. We enlisted Julie Neill from Julie Neill Designs based out of New Orleans to craft many custom light fixtures. Additionally, we had complete creative freedom in curating the details of each furnishing and finish for this house. It remains one of Bethany’s most rewarding design experiences to date.
