How do you know that interior design is your passion? For me, it became apparent at a very early age. Growing up in a small Midwestern town as an only child, I found myself constantly rearranging the furniture in my room. I loved exploring new looks.
My father traveled throughout the United States with his job and would often take me along. I remember the awe of New York City as he gave me time to explore the city and the department stores. I was moved by the style and the precise placement of each item in a room from the smallest vignette to the overall placement of furniture. As we ventured further to cities like Chicago, San Francisco, Beverly Hills, Charleston, Los Angeles and Boston I grew more inspired and challenged to become a designer.
I attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, then worked for Ralph Lauren’s Home Collection “lifestyling” in specialty shops. In 1992, I began my own Interior Design business and the love affair continues to this day.
